TomTom Go 730 Firmware 8.301 kills "Operate my Go" functionality

Hi,

Well my first update of firmware (from 8.300) was only a few minutes ago and already I'm swearing :-)

They broke the TomTom Home "Operate my Go" functionality, you will probably get a message like "This function is not yet supported for your navigation device or operating system". At least I'm not the only one with the problem, hopefully will be fixed soon...

Anyway I didn't make a backup just before the firmware update and TomTom home doesn't prompt for one (another failing in my opinion).

I've only just realised that tomtom can't actually import contacts as claimed (at least from my Treo) so I'm not really happy with "them" right now...

OH how I wish I had checked THIS out BEFORE i bought my TOMTOM! I assumed that it would work with Windows 7. Here it is now, a YEAR after this posting AND THE !)@()*%*#@() unit still DOES NOT, DOESN"T, WILL NOT, CAN NOT, Can't, WORK WITH WINDOWS 7, Win 7. Yup, I get that same message as you do/did. And when I called TomTom about it I got the 'company-line' , 'All our resources are devoted to this problem, Sir.'. Yeah, sure. G-D liers! What happened to 'truth-in-advertising' in this country?? It's not just buyer-be-ware, it's buyer-be-paranoid! DO NOT BUY TOMTOM, make sure what ever you buy IS comptible before hand and of course, this goes against all the claims that Windows 7 is compatible with everything....but I have come to expect lies from Micro-sh-t.

OK, I'm not sure how my post makes you belive that Tom Tom home doesn't work on Windows 7 as it does, in fact I am running the 64 bit version of WIN7 now although at the time of my post it was WINXP. This problem I have posted about occured one or two times since my post but hasn't occured recently, probably because it really made them look unprofessional. In general I am happy with the TOM TOM even though I think the price for map updates is a rip off.
